With pristine white sand beaches and a vibrant underwater world, there is no wonder why the Maldives is one of the most desirable destinations for those wanting a secluded getaway or a luxury honeymoon. For a true Maldivian barefoot paradise and a fantastic resort in the Maldives, we would recommend the Summer Island Resort.
Upon landing into the Maldives, to get to the island you need to take a breath-taking 45-minute speedboat ride over the mesmerising turquoise waters and you may even see some Flying Fish along the way!
As soon as you step ashore you are greeted by smiling faces and palm-fringes beaches as you make your way down the jetty and into the heart of the resort. For the beach lovers out there a stay in the Superior Beach Villa is the perfect choice. With gorgeous French doors leading out to your own private patio, it is an ideal place to relax on a sun lounger whilst gazing out over the Indian Ocean.
The restaurants and bars bring the outdoor atmosphere to your table, with the open-air design enhancing your dining experience, you can watch the stars shoot by. Our favourite bar is Nevi, located on the beach and facing west, it has the most amazing sunset views! The main buffet-style restaurant, Samuga, is great. The food changes daily and is full of Maldivian cuisine with a small European section so there is something for everyone. If you are looking for an intimate meal with a loved one, Avi is the restaurant to go to as it seats a maximum of 30 people, perfect if you are celebrating a special occasion or just want to enjoy an a la carte meal.
Even though the Maldives is known as a destination to sit back and bathe in the glorious sunshine, there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained. You can take a romantic stroll along the beach, it only takes 25 minutes to walk around the whole island, taking in the beautiful sights of the coconut trees swaying in the gentle breeze and the sound of the waves coming to shore. Everyday there is an opportunity to take the speedboat to the capital, Male, for a spot of shopping before heading back to the Summer Island Resort to cool off in the infinity pool. Being in the Maldives, the most popular activity for guests is the water sports. These are bookable locally with a sports company, allowing you the use of speedboats, catamarans, kayaks, paddle boards, sailboard, scuba diving and snorkelling. Staying at the Summer Island on an All-Inclusive basis enables you to one free snorkel excursion per day, you can also hire snorkel sets from the resort. If you would like even more snorkelling the ocean around the island is chest deep all the way out to the house reef which is covered in coral and exotic fish, home to the Clown fish, Trigger fish, Shark, Squid and many more!

Dale took a great deal of trouble to use lateral vision in order to recommend the best route for us from Manchester (UK) to Florida. Several possibilities were discussed until he hit on the “Irish“ connection. This fitted the bill beautifully with only a short stopover in Dublin and with the added advantage of customs and immigration requirements dealt with in Ireland. What a star – thank you Dale.

I booked a trip to Russia with my friend through Sam. He was great. Good knowledge and not too pushy.

I booked a trip to New York for my 50th Birthday and not only got a great price but the service levels are fantastic. All my requests were dealt with and they knew all about where to go for my first visit. Great company to deal with and with exceptional service. A company I shall certainly use again and recommend.
