Taking a trip to China will certainly open your eyes and change your perspective on travel. This vast country has so much to offer and many hidden gems to seek out. We have created the perfect ten night trip, taking you around the best places in China.
This incredible journey will start off by us sending you flying with British Airways in premium economy start to Beijing. You’ve got a long flight ahead of you so enjoy the extra legroom, snooze with a greater recline, tuck in to the delicious meals and unwind with the full bar service.
Beijing
After that long flight, you’ve reached Beijing! Let’s head to the hotel to freshen up. You’ll be checking into the Rosewood Beijing for four nights whilst you enjoy the sights of Beijing. This five-star hotel lies in the heart of Beijing’s Central Business District, surrounded by skyscrapers and high-end retail stores. You’ll be able to lie back in your king bed and admire the Beijing skyline before fine dining in one of the many restaurants in the hotel.
After you’ve spent time admiring the view, why not head out into the heart of Beijing and explore! For shopping head to Wangfujing Street, it’s lined with many retailers and shopping centres. Of a night, Wangfujing Street hosts a food market where you’ll see some very unusual foods, if you’re a little squeamish you may want to miss this part out. However, there are some amazing restaurants in Beijing and we’ll be sending you to a traditional Peking Roast Duck banquet complete with an acrobat show. During the day time, we will also arrange for you to go on your own private tour to see the famous Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, The Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. Being in Beijing, there is one place you must visit, the Great Wall of China. So, we will also arrange for you to have a private tour of the Great Wall at Mutianyu. If you are feeling full of energy you can climb the 1400 steps or you can take a cable car to the top, but coming down it’s a lot more fun, but you’ll have to go to find out!
Sadly, it’s time to bid farewell to Beijing and hop of a flight to your next destination. You’ll be flying First Class with Air China, whilst enjoying lie-flat seats, a 23-inch touch screen and a personal escort service at Beijing’s T3.
Xi’an
You’ve landed in Xi’an, home to the world-famous Terracotta Warriors. For two nights, you’ll be staying at the five-star Sofitel Legend People’s Grand Hotel situated inside the city walls and within walking distance of the historic Bell and Drum towers. You’ll enjoy a king size bed in your room along with free Wi-Fi, a mirror TV, mini bar and 24 hours’ butler service. You can also dine in the gourmet Dolce Vita restaurant which serves authentic Italian food and enjoy cocktails in the hotels’ lavish bars.
To fill your days, we’ll arrange for you to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Terracotta Warriors Army and Horses. You’ll see thousands of life-size Terracotta figures and learn about how they were discovered. You can also purchase a life-size reproduction of a Terracotta Warrior to take home as a souvenir. In the evening, we will also arrange for you to enjoy a Dumpling banquet with a Tang Dynasty Show. You’ll taste a feast of local dumplings, nearly 20 varieties that are steamed and stuffed with delicious fillings.
Your time is Xi’an is nearly up, after stuffing yourself with dumplings and seeing one of the most famous archaeologist sites of all time, it’s time to fly First Class with Air China on to your last destination.
Shanghai
You’ve reached Shanghai! You’ll be staying in the best hotel in Shanghai for four nights, ranked number one on TripAdvisor, the luxurious five-star Mandarin Oriental Pudong Hotel. Located on the banks of the Huangpu River and in the heart of the financial district, the Bund, your room will have spectacular views across the city and river. You can rest in the king size bed whilst taking in the lights and sights of Shanghai or enjoy a soak in the bath tub with your own separate television in the bathroom.
It’s now time to explore Shanghai! As you’re taking a stroll along the river front by the Bund district, you’ll notice that there is a clear division between the rickety charm of the Old Town and the architectural wonders that make up the Bund. We will arrange for you to experience the best of Shanghai with a private tour, you’ll visit the Jade Buddha Temple, The Shanghai Museum, take a trip to the silk factory and more. In the evening, we’ll also arrange for you to see a breath-taking acrobatic show performed by the magnificent Shanghai Acrobatics School and Troupe.
Once you’ve taken in the sights of Shanghai, it’s time to head home. You’ll be boarding a British Airways flight back to the UK, and seeing as it’ll be a longer flight than to Beijing, you’ll be flying premium economy! You can also take advantage of the extra luggage allowance so you can bring home lots of souvenirs that you’ve bought along the way.
So, if you have ten nights spare and want to see what this incredible country has to offer, you can from £4395 per person.
